Ensuring basic living conditions in the areas of health, education, housing, utilities and transport etc. is not only crucial for prosperity and quality of life, but also costs money. The IAT conducts research into financial flows from a spatial and sectoral perspective, based on the guiding principle of equal living conditions in all sub-regions. We develop and evaluate financing models and funding structures. Our activities include the design and implementation of funding programs, funding advice, impact assessments, viability assessments and feasibility studies. We work on public, in particular municipal finances, private equity, regional banks and financial systems as well as civic engagement. We help to ensure that services of general interest remain secure and affordable in the future.
