Work is an economic factor of production as well as an opportunity for social participation and ecological transformation. We examine sector- and occupation-specific developments on the labor market and the associated opportunities and challenges. While the demand for skilled workers and employees will increase considerably in the future, for example in the health and social professions or in IT, declines or redistributions are to be expected in other sectors. Against this background, we show how structural change and transformation can be shaped in regions, sectors, companies and professions. In this context, we also conduct research on developments in labor and collective bargaining policy and on prospects for shaping social partnerships. We examine employment effects, contributions to value creation and their stabilizing and transformative potential for society in various sectors. Future-oriented ways of reconciling gainful employment and informal (private) care work, such as child rearing or family care, form further fields of research. add edit delete block
