Marius Angstmann (formerly Beckamp) has been a research assistant in the IAT's Spatial Capital research area since May 2018. Previously, he studied "Urban Culture, Society and Space" at the University of Duisburg-Essen. There he focused on issues of sustainable urban development and wrote his thesis on municipal climate change mitigation in the Ruhr region.
His work focuses on questions at the interface of sustainability transformation, economic development, urban development, and digitalisation. In his current dissertation at Osnabrück University he is investigating the emergence of industrial symbioses as a regional concept of the circular economy and potentials of the concept for structural policy.
